Communications

The Communications Manager interfaces with the public and news media and provides communications support to town departments.

Responsibilities


  • Writes and issues press releases and prepares information materials for public distribution
  • Develops and manages content for the Town of Avon website, Facebook and Twitter.
  • Coordinates with local public television channel, High Five Access Media, which covers Town Council meetings
  • Prepares town publications in cooperation with town departments
  • Develops and monitors Avon’s communications plan and policies as envisioned by the Town Council
Engage Avon

Engage Avon is a web-based tool designed to make it easy for Avon residents to get involved, participate in community decisions and provide ideas and feedback on a variety of topics affecting our community. A quick platform sign up will let you provide comments and suggestions, as well as receive future updates about projects of personal interest.
